The Glossier Guide.

Glossier has evidently been taking the beauty world by storm - and unrelentingly at that, given its growing dominance over the makeup as well as the skincare world. I haven't personally ventured into the skincare realm of Glossier, but I have definitely experienced much of the makeup products, although there are still many others to try. I wrote a review post on the Glossier Generation G Matte lipsticks a while back (spoiler alert - they're so good they made it into my 2017 Best of Beauty!). Since then, I've tried a few more makeup products so I thought it would be beneficial if I compiled all I've used by Glossier to write a comprehensive review on them!

I'll admit, it took me a while to even get attracted by the cloud paints despite their continuous rave reviews by everyone who's tried them. Don't get me wrong - blush is actually my all time favourite makeup product, but I just couldn't understand what made these so innovative or different from regular blushes. Nonetheless, I finally gave in and selected the duo bundle with the shades "Puff" (a light baby pink - not too warm or cool) and "Haze" (a cool toned berry).

These are definitely different than your typical blushes. First off, the tiniest amount is all you need. Then, you can dab a bit on each cheek and blend with your fingers; or you can use a brush to apply and blend. The interesting part about these blushes is that they create a more even and diffused application due to the liquid consistency and the control you have for blending. Overall, these impart a pretty watercolour effect. There is also a subtle glow to them, making them especially perfect for spring and summer!

Ah, the famous Haloscope - basically my reason for ordering again from Glossier. Marketed as basically being a dew stick, this is not designed to give off a metallic look, but to impart a more natural or sweaty look - which I am so into right now. I was contemplating between this "Quartz" shade or the lightest "Moonstone" shade. However, after long hours conducting "research", apparently, the "Moonstone" shade contains glitter whereas "Quartz" is simply dew.

So, I selected "Quartz" which has a slight champagne tint, but on my skin, it meshes right in and simply has a neutral-toned shine. I like to apply this by rubbing my fingers on the stick and then placing and blending it on my cheekbones and the apples of my cheeks for a more prominent dewy look. Honestly, I expected the product to be a bit slicker and light, rather than this stiff and heavy texture. Nonetheless, when you build up the product (which I do have to do), the shine is intense, yet very natural. It's definitely a must-have for me, especially in the warmer seasons.

As I said, I already wrote a post on these lipsticks which you can check out here. Still, I'll brief you right here: I love these! These are sheer matte lipsticks, yet very comfortable and easy to apply. I have the shades "Jam" (deep berry magenta) and "Crush" (hot raspberry pink) which I especially love as these are the among the bolder shades in the range that I love using to create the popsicle/blotted lip effect when I apply them using the ombré lip technique which is very easy to do with these. They are also long-lasting, but not transfer proof. These are your simple "swipe on and head out" lipsticks. Foolproof.
